About
Landing Fees Canada collects airport landing and departure fees so pilots and operators can plan trips without phoning every airport.
How fees are recorded
- Fees are rules, not single prices. Each fee applies to aircraft by category, type, weight (MTOW) bracket and flight type, and is charged flat, per 1,000 kg, per hour, per day or per passenger — mirroring how airports publish them.
- Cost per visit in the calculator and map is the landing fee plus the departure fee, where an airport charges both.
- Per 1,000 kg rates are calculated per 1,000 kg or part thereof. Minimum and maximum charges are applied.
- Official fees cite a published schedule. Crowd-sourced fees come from pilots who paid or were quoted them.
- Every fee starts unverified. It becomes community verified once 3 different pilots (not counting the person who submitted it) confirm it, as long as confirmations outnumber open reports. Moderators can also verify or reject any fee. Old fees are kept as history rather than overwritten.
- Last updated moves forward when a fee is added or a pilot confirms it's still accurate. Fees are Fresh under 6 months, Aging under 18 months, then Stale.
What's not included
Parking, terminal and FBO handling fees, airport improvement fees on passenger tickets, fuel, de-icing, and GST/HST unless marked as included.
NAV CANADA charges
NAV CANADA's per-departure charges are listed as departure fees: its Terminal Services Charge for jets over 7.5 t at the airports it serves, and its daily charge for propeller aircraft of 3 t or less at Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Pearson, Ottawa and Trudeau. Its annual charges for small aircraft, daily charges for larger propeller aircraft and small jets, and en-route charges don't depend on the airport, so they aren't included.
